After offering his first group of sons in 2021, we thought Stockman’s legacy here may be as a sire of herd bulls, but calving his daughters for 2 years now has proven that his lasting legacy will be as a maternal sire strong in fertility, mothering ability and docility. His purchase was the result of a multi-year search for a Sim-Angus herd sire that would be an outcross to our program, but still maintain strong pedigree and the overall quality and performance we demand. He fits our paradigm well as he combines maternal and feedlot performance. His pedigree holds maternal legends such as the “Apple” cow and Cowboy Cut’s dam. He comes from a program that feeds cattle for a living and understands that pounds are how we get paid. The proof is in…Stockman sires lots of growth and muscle; and while his marbling number doesn’t indicate this, his feedlot progeny have consistently graded Choice, with over 50% CAB and a few Primes. His sons have topped other bull sales and his semen sales have met with much customer satisfaction and repeat business. We are not aware of another SimAngus sire anywhere that will generate this much pure performance in a structurally correct and attractive package with good docility and foot quality. Deceased.
